Yaksha Prashne: 10 Articles

The Pandavas were exiled for twelve long years. The period of the exile is replete with numerous anecdotes, and small stories (upa-kathe) related by visiting sages.

One of the most famous anecdotes that occurs towards the end of their exile, is the series of questions posed to Yudhishtira, the eldest Pandava, by the lord of Dharma, in the form of a heron.

As the lord of Dharma identifies himself as an invisible yaksha*, this anecdote is popularly known as ‘Yaksha prashne’ or the Yaksha’s questions.
