Madhwa Vijaya
Madhwa Vijaya is a biography of Jagadguru Madhwaachaarya (1238-1317), written by his disciple and contemporary, Naarayana Panditachaarya.
While most accounts of saints and philosophers are compilations of historical accounts, Madhwa Vijaya has the unique distinction of being written by a person, who lived and dwelt at the same time as the Aachaarya, observed him from close quarters, and presumably endorsed by Madhwaachaarya himself; thereby making this the most authentic account of Madhwaachaarya’s life, available to us.
The biography is divided into 16 chapters, called sargas. It begins with the descriptions of the first two avataaras of Vayu devaru, as Hanuman and Bheema. Tracing events that led up to the birth of the Aachaarya, it ends with his disappearance from the physical world.
